Domoic Acid (ASP) Alert™ Test Strip Marine Water; 20-Test
Request InfoSensoreal ASP Alert™ Water Test is a rapid immunochromatographic lateral flow assay designed for the qualitative and semi-quantitative screening of domoic acid in seawater samples (salinity >35 ppt). The assay uses a competitive immunoassay format. The prepared seawater sample is incubated with a lyophilized antibody-gold nanoparticle conjugate. If domoic acid is present in the sample, it binds to the conjugate antibodies, reducing the amount of free antibody-gold nanoparticle conjugate available to bind at the test line. The mixture is then applied to the lateral flow cassette, where it migrates across a membrane containing an immobilized domoic acid conjugate at the test line. A control line must appear for the test to be considered valid, confirming proper sample migration and assay performance. Test-line intensity is inversely related to toxin concentration: as the concentration of domoic acid increases, the intensity of the test line decreases. A negative result is indicated when the test line color is equal to or greater than the intensity of the control line, indicating that the assay did not detect domoic acid at or above the method detection limit. Conversely, a test line with color below that of the control line intensity indicates a presumptive positive result. Presumptive positive samples may be confirmed using ELISA, HPLC, or another appropriate confirmatory analytical method.
