Gold Standard Diagnostics, a developer, manufacturer and supplier of test kits and systems for laboratory analyses, is pleased to announce the launch of our ABRAXIS® Patulin Dipstick Test Kit is a rapid immunochromatographic test designed solely for use in the qualitative screening of Patulin in food samples such applesauce, apple juice/cider, pear puree, and pear juice. The ABRAXIS® Patulin ELISA Kit is the first lateral flow rapid method developed for the detection of Patulin.

National and international health authorities have begun to adopt strict regulatory guidelines aimed at controlling the presence of Patulin in food and feed. Currently more than 100 countries have formal regulations for Patulin, including the US, EU and China. The US and China has established recommendations of 50 ppb for apples. The US FDA also has set recommendation level for apple juice, apple juice concentrates and apple juice products at 50 ppb. The EU has set its’ regulatory limits at 10 ppb in apple juice and solid apple products for infants and young children; 25 ppb in solid apple products intended for direct consumption and 50 ppb in fruit juices and drinks that contain apple juice or are derived from apples.  

With limits for Patulin established by country, the detection range of the ABRAXIS® Patulin Dipstick Test Kit (4.0 to 90 ppb depending on sample matrix) allows for the detection of Patulin at concentrations to meet or exceed requirement levels.
